Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy applies all facets of yoga (asana, pranayama, meditation, subtle energy, etc.) to help unlock our true potential when we have faced setbacks on our path.

Thai Massage Therapy

Thai massage is an ancient form of body work that uses a series of focused compressions, yoga poses and assisted stretching to return our system to balance. Please visit the Thai Massage Therapy page for more information.

Sometimes we are looking to make some changes in our lives but find the task daunting. Whether is it energy balancing, beginning meditation, changing dietary choices that no longer serve us, or starting on a yoga journey, Holistic Wellness sessions can help make the transition simpler, fun, and successful.

Humble Monkey Wellness® welcomes you to another Autumn season with all the changes and renewal that comes with it! Our Saturday offerings are back and this month's are listed below:
  • 9/2 - 9:00 -10:00 AM Foam Rolling with John ($10, in person and on-line). It's time for a little self-care with our friend the foam roller. Join John as we do a full body program to loosen your fascia (connective tissue) and improve your range of motion. There are a few rollers at the studio available on a first-come, first-serve basis, but you're going to appreciate how your body feels so much that you'll want one for your home practice. You can get yours here. We recommend the black roller, it is the firmest.
  • 9/16 - 9:00-10:00 AM Community Yoga with Heather (FREE, in person).  Join Heather for an easy entry into your Saturday, receiving all the benefits of a yoga practice whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner.
Our Labor Day class schedule with be AM only; NO evening Essential Yoga class on 9/4.

As of 9/1/2023, all classes are $10 and our 10-class card is a 9 + 1 offering ($90).

Patanjali Spotlight:
This month's Yama reflection is on the fourth Yama, bramacharya, moderation in all things or traditionally translated as celibacy or abstinence. So this yama asks us to think about our relationship with excess, over-indulgence, and borderline, if not full-blown, addiction. We can reflect on all those things that we engage with and see if we do, have, or take just enough or whether we spill over into excess. Take a moment and think about everything we interact with on a daily basis. What kind of a relationship do we have with our jobs (office, manual labor, housework, etc.), our "chores", our exercise, our food, our screen time (computer, phone, watch, television, Kindle), our shopping for "things?"

And can we find, nurture, and appreciate our relationship with the Divine/God/the Universe? That which resides within and outside of us. That which provides all of the external experiences through our sensory intake of the natural world. Do we recognize and appreciate the Godhead in us and every other sentient Being? Does it need to be sentient for our appreciation and wonder? Take some time to recognize when something is providing you with joy due to appreciation and fulfillment as opposed to a need to do more of it to satiate a desire for pleasure. I think perhaps you'll find that it is indeed the little things in life. Namaste!
