Newsletter
Humble Monkey Wellness® hope you are embracing a Spring season full of rejuvenation and new growth. Celebrate the emerging growth and the return of familiar plants and leaves, allow yourself to branch out in new directions, and be energized by the sun as it brings the world to life around us.
6/24 - Summer Solstice Practice with Heather (90 mins, $15, in person). The Summer Solstice is a time of celebration for life, light, and the completion/beginning of a cycle. Reconnect with and honor the path you are on as we recharge, radiate, and energize the body and mind through intentional movement and breath. Patanjali Spotlight: A new feature for the web-page. I was thinking about the ahimsa PSA I included in the last newsletter and realized that having a place to bring some Patanjali wisdom into focus would be beneficial for me and potentially you as well. I always find it helpful to revisit his wisdom on a regular basis; to have a reminder about the broader meaning of yoga and offer some tools for reflection and deepening one's own practice. The second Yama is satya, truthfulness or honesty and, while we know that we always want to honor ahimsa in our practice (brutal honesty is NOT that), how we go about practicing satya is important to a balanced life. One way to work with satya is to examine and reflect on how we are being honest with ourselves with our habits and choices. In our attempts to become healthier through lifestyle changes, are we actually doing the work, or do we hide behind a facade of good intentions?
